READ EVERYWHERE CAMPAIGN

The New York Library expanded its annual efforts to encourage kids and teens to read throughout the summer with a national "Read Everywhere" campaign. The campaign centered around an outdoor reading room on the plaza of its landmark research library on 42nd Street. This project gave the public an opportunity to sit, read, and relax in a literary oasis that offered books recommended by expert librarians, author talks, a book swap, and a wall where people could write their own summer reading recommendations.

In addition to the physical outdoor reading room, the Library collected reading recommendations online via its #ireadeverywhere social media campaign. The public shared photos of themselves on Twitter or Instagram reading books that they’d recommend in quirky and beloved reading locations.

This project partnered with illustrator Timothy Goodman, whose style set a fun and interactive tone that resonated with all ages and complemented the superhero-themed kids and teens portion of the campaign.
