WAYFINDING SYSTEM: NYPL BRANCH LIBRARIES

To improve and unify the visitor experience across the Library's 92 locations, NYPL's Creative Services and Capital Planning teams partnered with TPG Architecture to develop a comprehensive signage and wayfinding system that could be applied to branch libraries and research centers.

The system needed to be scalable and flexible given that NYPL's locations vary greatly in size, layout, architecture, and function. The system also included a range of fabrication methods to allow for bespoke yet unified applications across a variety of circumstances and budgets.
